Hotel S.O.A.P (Son Of A Pitch)-Freeware
Hotel S.O.A.P is the first in a series of saltline effects designed with FreePlayer in mind. It demonstrates the foundations upon which all FreePlayer specific VSTs have been designed. Hotel S.O.A.P is a -1 octave to +1 octave pitch bend effect. Pitch can be set in semitones or note relative intervals (normal/musical modes) and the pitch ‘poles’ can mirror each other or set independently.
Hotel S.O.A.P also features a ‘Dead_zone’. This sets the point of rotation at which pitching kicks in. The ‘Reflex’ control changes the rate/time it takes to reach the desired selected pitch. These controls are provided so that the user may adjust the effect’s response to suit their playing style.

Son Of A Pitch
Son Of A Pitch is Hotel’s bigger brother. This full version allows pitch bending from -3 to +3 octaves. It houses the same features and functions as it’s smaller sibling and a lot more besides.
The pitch bender has 3 different modes, Normal, Classic and Complex. When set to normal S.O.A.P functions the same as Hotel S.O.A.P, 1 minus pole and 1 plus pole. Classic mode forces the effect into a single pole that can be set to minus OR plus values. Complex reverts back to 2 poles, either of which can be set to plus or minus.
Son Of A Pitch also has a 2nd pitch bend effect built in called ‘trail’. Trail is a -1 to +1 pitch bender (much the same as H-S.O.A.P) with an included delay module. It also has a mix control to blend the main pitch bender and itself together. When trail is activated incoming audio is sent to both pitch benders. This results in two different notes at the same time. ‘Dead_zone’ and ‘reflex’ function in the same manner as H-S.O.A.P.
Along side the main pitch controller, Son Of A Pitch features a state variable filter and a modulation section comprising of 2 LFOs and 6 destinations. The filter can be routed before or after pitching takes place, filter cut off and resonance can both be influenced by the pitch knob or their respective controls. Each LFO has 5 waveforms, three different rate settings (free, sync and note) and a depth knob. The 6 destinations (main pitch, filter cut, trail pitch, trail delay, trail mix and main mix) have amount controls and invert signal options.
